Engineer}] Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of 7th. October, advising us that you are returning to us four of the special 6.50/16 Tyres with experimental tread compounds which we sent you for test on 1st. May. 1940. We note that the remaining four covers are still in service. We are greatly indebted to you for the assistance you have given us in this matter. It is interesting to note that the four tyres now being returned did not squeal badly on corners. We shall examine them carefully with this in mind. We also note that you will make tests to select a pair of tyres that are bad in this respect and we shall of course, also examine these thoroughly. There are some interesting trends in Passenger Car design in America which the under-signed would like to discuss with Mr. Robotham and Mr. Hardy in the near future. We appreciate that the present situation must make all members of your Experimental Department exceptionally busy, but we think it might be of mutual advantage if we could in the near future exchange views regarding the trend of Car and Tyre development. Practically any date after 21st. October would be suitable to the under-signed who could arrange to reach Derby shortly after mid-day. Yours faithfully, THE AVON INDIA RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED.
