Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, With further reference to the Petrolift which failed on Mr. Lappin's car, we have now examined this pump carefully and find that probably in order to clean the filter bowl, someone has been rather heavy handed with the nut at the bottom and has buckled what we term the Inlet Ring, this, of course, breaking the joint and allowing petrol to escape into the electrical apparatus, and also causing a bad air leak. I might add this is the first case we have had of this happening. Kind regards. Yours sincerely, T.C. Skinner | ||
