c. By Y755 P EFC1/T. 5th December, 1926. Messrs. Peto & Radford, 50, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. Dear Sirs, Re Two-Unit BDH.11 Batteries. Three sets of these batteries have recently been received by us and my assistant reports to me in the following terms :- * (1) A few of the terminals have very poor threads which are likely to strip. The posts have too large a top radius which reduces the useful length of thread which is already on the short side. * (2) The terminal nuts should be liberally coated with vaseline to prevent corrosion. Acid does get on the terminals in transit, as in the case of these batteries. * (3) The vent plugs are now a very nice fit in the threads. You will notice that even now we do not receive batteries with terminals properly vaselined, which you will agree should be done before acid is put in the battery. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
