x206 W/S - C. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}16/KW.21.6.34. BENTLEY BRAKES. With reference to C8/C.19.6.34. The material has been sent off to Cricklewood. It would certainly be preferable to put this lining on Miss Smith's car rather than the old Ferodo bonded asbestos which was fitted to Mr. Paton's car. With regard to blocking up the holes in the brake drum, it is just as easy to get water into the drum through the mud excluder as it is through these holes and therefore blocking them up does not really do much good. A number of people whom I know seem to have no difficulty in keeping the water off their brakes when washing the car, therefore one is rather puzzled to know why Miss Smith is having so much trouble.
