Re Low Stress Valve Springs - Phantom III.

Further to our memo. E/PSN.1/MN.10.10.36 in which we issued a scheme for low stress valve springs for the above chassis, we now send you herewith LeC.5337 of a lighter outer spring to be used with the same inner spring instructed on the original scheme LeC.5323. This lighter outer spring has the same load, valve closed as the heavier spring originally instructed, but considerably reduced load, valve open.

The object of making the lighter spring is to find out whether we can get satisfactory valve operation with the reduced load in the valve open position.

E/PSN.

Att: LeC.5337.
