LeC.5278 and LeC.5293.
Memo' Ref. E.5/HP.14.10.36.

With reference to the modifications to the location for Tappet Guides shown in LeC.5278, we agree that this method would show further savings in addition to those given in our previous estimate for LeC.5293 (see memo' Sft{Mr Swift}/WNWl/DR.1.10.36)

We see no difficulty in manufacture, and this method, together with the single Clamp and Die Cast Block should make the economy worth while.

As regards the first modification shown on LeC.5293 locating the guides by a fine fitting Clamp, we did not anticipate any trouble with the method of tooling we had in mind.

We however, feel that the later scheme LeC.5278 is preferable.
