Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/EAG.5/ET.4.11.40 - 2 - to make a new tunnel and reinforce it with swaged ribs. The second steel cross bar was also weak and had to be temporarily reinforced. The production job, I know, is different from the one fitted to this car. I have not had an opportunity of checking Mr. Lappin's car to see if that is standing up to its job. Possibly you could let me have a print of the rear tunnel, so that I could check up with the one that was taken from 9.B. I was glad to see by your letter this morning that you and your family are surviving the ordeal. I am glad to say that all my people are well. I have got my daughter and her baby and my daughter-in-law and her little girl living with us, as they found the climate of Coventry was not beneficial to their health. My son and son-in-law come over for the week-end, so that we have a house full. I was looking forward to having you to spend a night with us when you visited Derby, but under the circumstances, there is only the cellar I could offer you, and I am afraid that would not be very pleasant for you, as we should probably all dash down about mid-night! Hoping to see you in the near future and with kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
