The Springs F.88015 were checked for poundage; the drawing poundage should be 100±10 lbs - the actual poundages were 75, 85, 81½ and 78½ lbs. Inner Springs F.88014 - drawing poundage 50±10 lbs - actual poundages 39½, 41, 40½ and 43 lbs. Off Side Main Lever F.89109 - small forging cracks were discovered around the base of the Rebound Pad. The Stone Guards were damaged at the lower end of the links, showing that they are doing useful work. Exhaust System LOP.E.86603. The Off Side Downtake Pipe had fouled the Oil Filler for the Front Spring Suspension Housing. The Exhaust Pipe had fouled the side of the Lower Half Crankcase at the front end. The Silencer had fouled the 3rd Crossmember. The Swanneck had fouled the Roll Rod and Near Side Foot Brake Rope. Rear Shock Dampers LOP.F.87071. N.S.4873-4890. The top cap nut on the Near Side Connecting Link had fouled the Jack Bracket. The Ball Pins showed a slight foul in the neck. The Friction Load of Ball Joints before test was 7 lbs. and after test :- Top. Bottom. Near Side. 4 lbs. 3½ lbs. Off Side. 6 lbs. 5 lbs. Spring Poundage. Outer Spring F.88015 - drawing load = 100±10 lbs. Inner Spring F.88014 - " " = 50±10 lbs. continued. | ||
