X7535P. 7-2-30 X7535 Phantom II Batteries I am pleased to note Mr. Minchin is agreeable to our modifications of the lashdle slots as contained in his letter M {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /S of the 5th inst. With regard to the brass inserts I think Mr. Minchin's suggestion will be an improvement, although no corrosion has taken place so far on any battery in my care. I do not see how acid can get on these insertions because they are at such a high level & also shielded from any acid when the test is in position by an extension on the lid {A. J. Lidsey} which overhangs the battery handle on the inside. If Messrs P & R's suggestion is adopted, which I think it should (on both makes of battery) corrosion will not be entirely eliminated because if acid gets on the insert it will run down the thread & commence corrosion on the exposed (cont'd) | ||
