Referring to your Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/R.6.5.38., we have been through our files but can find no record of any correspondence on technical matters having been circulated by L. King without your knowledge, and are therefore at a loss to understand which particular recommendations are referred to in your memo. We quite agree that matters concerning assembly, clearances, fits and so forth have been taken up with the D.O. direct as in the past, and if you wish to be snowed under with papers you can of course have copies of any such points raised. We do not, however, know of any correspondence which has gone through in this way, and before taking any steps to modify our present procedure await your reply as to which particular instances you have in mind.
