Messrs. S. Smith & Sons, Ltd.,
Cricklewood Works,
London, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr. Nichols.

Dear Sir,

Concave dial instruments.

We do not appear to be getting very satisfactory results from the first sets of the above instruments which we have been trying out on 40/50 chassis.

An oil gauge failed recently and has been returned to you and yesterday a thermometer failed.

It is essential that we have replacement instruments here as quickly as possible in view of the fact that the car is disabled when important instruments fail.

Will you therefore do all in your power to let us have another set of 40/50 instruments (the third set) at our works early next week.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
