Dear Sirs, Re: CONCAVE DIAL INSTRUMENTS. We are sorry to note from yours of the 18th May, Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA., that two of the sample instruments, i.e. Oil Gauge and Thermometer, have failed. The former instrument only has so far reached us and the cause of failure is due to the working loose of an outside nut - apparently owing to vibration. Whilst very much regretting this failure, we would ask you to kindly appreciate that these instruments were made up hurriedly by hand in our Experimental Department. Replacement Oil Gauge is being sent you tonight and we hope our Works will be able to complete the bulk of the instruments concerned in the two additional sets on order. With renewed regrets. Yours faithfully, For S.SMITH & SONS (Motor Accessories) LTD., [Signature] SALES DIRECTOR. Handwritten notes: Top of page: -6175. Next to recipient address: WST | ||
