L044 640. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.8/MA.4.8.36. WRAITH RADIATOR YOKE. We understand that in view of the objections to the present Phantom III radiator yoke on the grounds of appearance, a scheme is being prepared with the diagonal front stays deleted. We think that such a scheme should be incorporated on the Wraith radiator before the latter is built or the yokes manufactured, in order to save scrap material and time. Attached are prints of a scheme which we are fitting up on a Phantom III radiator to remedy the defective appearance. Further, we think that the gauge of the Wraith radiator yoke should be the same as that of Phantom III, the latter is already rather flimsy and causes distortion of the shutter supports. We certainly do not think that the gauge of metal should be reduced. Attached :- Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}182 & 183. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std. | ||
