Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Bailey. Re Electric Starting Motor for Aero Engines. We thank you for youe letter of the 29th inst., contents of which we duly noted. We regrst thatyou are unable to produce the "Rolls-Royce" design of Reduction Gear for our Starting Motors, and in view of the fact that we are so heavily commited for material on our existing Contracts, we fear we cannot undertake the manufacture ourselves. We should like to consider the matter, however, in any subsequent Contract, and for that reason we shall be very interested to see your Mr. Willis. It would be more convenient if he would visit us after the August holidays, and we will write you again then suggesting a date. We are glad that you are arranging to "try out" one of these small starters on an "Eagle" Engine, and we will let you have a motor complete with our own Gear Reduction as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED. (Sigd) C. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Breedon. | ||
