of fibre between as shown on N.Sch.4641 issued 25.9.35. This member has already been made up and is awaiting test. It should demonstrate whether the tail bearing crossmember, as has been suggested, has any influence on the trouble.

(3) Different flexibilities of rear end anchorages for the gearbox as shown on. N.Sch.4463 issued 17.4.35.

(4) Experiments should be made filling in the frame sides with felt and covering up the holes in the webs. It may be sufficient only to cover the holes, if this is done effectively. This experiment can be carried out in conjunction with any of the others.

I think it is important that we should push on with an investigation into this matter and not be too dependent on the degree of elasticity with which the gearbox is carried.
