THE FRAZER-NASH-B.M.W. 16.2-H.P. (8ft. WHEELBASE) TYPE 328 GRAND PRIX SPORTS TWO-SEATER MODEL

Possessing phenomenal performance capabilities—a claim substantiated by innumerable successes in every sphere of motoring sport—the Type 328 has achieved world-wide repute. It has become a habit for Frazer-Nash-B.M.Ws to annex the Team Prize in first-class events, providing unassailable proof of their stamina and reliability. 14 Team Prizes were won during 1938 alone. In the Mille Miglia, the famous 1,000 mile race over open roads, 4 type 328 models were entered and all finished—1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th International sports category; Winners of the 2-litre class, in which they were the only cars to finish, and 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th in the general race classification. The team of 3 cars won the International Team Prize, against teams of Grand Prix Formula cars, and it was also the first time in the history of the race that a team had finished complete. A.{Mr Adams} F.{Mr Friese} P. Fane was SEVENTH in the general classification (140 starters) at an average speed of 74.05 m.p.h., the six cars ahead all being maximum capacity Formula machines—four 3-litre supercharged Alfa-Roméos, a 4½-litre Darracq and a 4½-litre Delahaye. Over the first section from Brescia to Bologne (approximately 150 miles) in the dark and heavy rain, Count von der Muhle-Eckart (the private owner of the fourth car, who, like Mr. Fane, drove single-handed throughout) averaged 86.56 m.p.h. All 4 cars finished ahead of all the supercharged 2-litre cars and many supercharged cars of greater engine capacity. Winners of the Team Prize in the Grand Prix of Antwerp, Belgian 24-hour Race at Spa (all 3 cars averaging 70 m.p.h.), Three-Hour Sports Car Race at Brooklands, etc., their record of successes is as unique as the car itself is unique among sports cars.

Wide doors of sturdy build, with greasing nipples for hinges and “built-in” door stop. The vee-screen gives improved vision forwards, more space to the occupants of the front seats and reduces wind noises and resistance at speed. Ample luggage accommodation is provided in the tail—accessible from the interior, and the spare wheel is recessed in the rear panel. The front seats are immediately adjustable, have chromium tubular frames and rear hand-rails, and fold forward. Adequate ventilation is assured under any conditions by an ingenious system that provides for the controlled entry of filtered air through interior grilles via the outside scuttle ventilators—these may be left open in rain.
