R:R.{Sir Henry Royce} 235A (100 T) (S. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 643, 19-2-20) G 2618 ORIGINAL EFC6/T27.7.20. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. to CJ. c. to E½. c. to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.3555. - R.R. DISTRIBUTION BOARD FOR EARTHED WIRING SCHEME. x.3770 We had intended at the time 6.EX was brought to you remarking upon the points on the distribution board which we did not consider satisfactory for standardisation, but this was delayed at the time by other matters. (1) As previously mentioned, we do not consider the Lucas cut-out itself as a satisfactory fitment for an R.R. distribution board, but if this is used there are one or two minor modifications we should require to be affected to the leading in wires of this cut-out, which modifications we have explained to Mr. Day in our EFC7/T16.6.20. (2) We had explained the defects in the clips for the fuse holders to Mr. Day in that same note. We now note that Mr. Hives in his Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG27.7.20, has pointed out this particular fault to you. We agree that it is desirable to alter the design of these. 77 (3) We suggest that the cover of the distribution board should be guided into position by fixing all or two of the bolts, or using studs. This is to prevent any possibility of the cover, causing short circuits when put on. Contd. | ||
