RE BODY WIRING.

The attached sample of chafed body wire was handed to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. at Kag, as an example of what happens to the direction indicator wires where they leave the body and turn round into the frame at the foot of the centre pillar on the Bentley cars. We thought we should like to take this matter up with the Coachbuilders.

It has been suggested that all the body wiring should be metal armoured with braid so that cars will automatically be suitable for wireless without interference. This metal braiding would serve to protect the wires against chafing only for a while.

When this braid covered wire is used on no account should the braided covering be used as a conductor, not even as an earth return.

We have had one car, viz: 32EX, in which this braided covering was used as a conductor between two points of different potential.
