-2- Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}6/WH.15.5.39. Distributor to be handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} for report on condition. Crack test flywheel. Crack test camwheel and check whether any increase in backlash has developed between the camwheel and the crank pinion. ASSEMBLY. (1) Existing crankcase assuming no cracks. (2) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} to supply new main bearings where existing are cracked. (3) New lower half required, existing is test tackle sump. (4) Modify crankshaft to ECD.1321 which permits interchangeability of gear boxes. (5) Existing con. rods and big ends if free from cracks. Fit new con. rod bolts. (6) Complete new set of EB.3916 Aerolite pistons and rings. (7) Existing inlet and exhaust valves if free from cracks and no stretch. (8) New ExS.1217 induction system to be fitted after modifying the carburetter flange to suit small type Stromberg carb. which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} will supply. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} will supply air silencer. (9) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} to ensure that whatever distributor is supplied it has governor characteristic as fitted to B.80 No.1 unit. ✓ (10) New set of tubed high tension wires to be fitted. (11) Existing camwheel if free from cracks and has normal backlash. (12) Studebaker damper to be fitted, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JRS. will give setting etc. | ||
