The above unit has been returned after 50 hrs. endurance test and should be inspected prior to being assembled for 11.B.V. chassis. A report on the general condition of the unit to be given, including the following items. Inspection. Crack test of crankcase also measurement of cylinder bores. Measurement of main bearings and condition. Crack test of crankshaft and measurement of journals and pins. Crack test of connecting rods and big end bearings also measurement of latter. Crack test pistons and measure together with piston ring clearances. Crack test inlet and exhaust valves, also measure and report on valve seat conditions. Crack test bottom tappets and measure whether any wear has taken place in the guides. Crack test cylinder head and measure guides. Condition of Vandervell rocker bushes. Examine camshaft bearings and check whether any wear between camshaft and distributor drive gear. Examination of water pump. Front dynamo bearing is noisy and dynamo should be examined. | ||
