Attached to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}1/JH.20.5.41. GJ/W5.13.5.41. Detail of work done on S.E.V. A majority of the L.T. wires have been replaced on this car owing to electrical faults having occurred. The wires which have been replaced are as follows :- O.S. Headlamp - Junction box. N.S. Headlamp - Junction box. N.S. Headlamp dipper - Junction box. O.S. Sidelamp - Junction box. N.S. Sidelamp - Junction box. O.S. Horn - relay box. N.S. horn. - relay box. Tail lamp - Distribution box. stop lamp. - Switch. Reverse lamp - Switch. Stop lamp switch - Junction box. Dynamo 'F' - Regulator box. Dynamo 'D' - Regulator box. Main switch - Distribution box. Distributor - Coil. Ballast resistance - Carburetter choke. Petrol gauge - Tank unit. Petrol wng. light - Tank unit. Petrol reserve tap - Instrument board. (Reserve tap not fitted) Petrol switch - Rear petrol pump. Petrol switch - Front petrol pump. Trafficator switch - Junction box. Trafficator switch - Junction box. The insulation on these wires was mainly good with the exception of the portions which were not protected between the tubes and units. All the wires in the region of the petrol pumps were well soaked. The combined tail reverse and stop lamp 312/A.{Mr Adams} was not in a fit condition to refit. The bank of holders were rusty and the spring contacts loose which could cause a short circuit. A Lucas ST.38.A. tail and stop lamp was fitted the reversing wire being taped up. The switchbox to DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}2272 was examined and the contact blades were very dirty, particularly noticeable on the ignition contacts where insufficient lowering was on | ||
