We recently sent various Aero Engine details to Messrs. Boulton & Paul Ltd for anodic treatment, amongst which were two Bases INS.279.

They pointed out that it is necessary for them to remove 2 Brass Inserts, as treatment by the anodic process with these Brass parts in position would probably ruin the whole job.

This anodic process is applicable only to Aluminium and its Alloys.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}

To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} only

Meantime Messrs. Boulton & Paul have removed the two Brass inserts in question, and are proceeding with the work.
