S/W. Rv. from H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} " " PN.{Mr Northey} Re:- OVERHEATING. BJ. having addressed a memo to CJ. suggesting that it would be of assistance to customers who are having over-heating trouble if we wrote them explaining how best to drive the car to avoid overheating troubles as far as possible, CJ. has asked to see a draft letter embodying your views and any I may have. Beyond being of the opinion that it is advisable to drop to a lower gear when the temperature is approaching boiling point, and using less throttle and more fan speed, I have no views on the matter until the further experiments which you are undertaking have been completed. I should be glad, however, if you, EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} would send up the recommendations which you think should be made to customers, and I will then discuss these with PN.{Mr Northey}, have a letter drafted, and send you a copy.
