W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Esq.,
Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Robotham,

As arranged I am sending up the car and enclose herewith two lists of work, one for chassis and one for body.

I went over to Belgium for the Easter holidays and took the car over the same roads as I went over last October. I am glad to be able to tell you that I had no wheel wobble on the pavé, and although I did have one return of it which I reported to you on the 4th February I think I can say that this trouble is cured.

The top speed performance of the car is down quite a bit as compared with last October, about 4-5 m.p.h. As I think I told you I never thought the car pulled quite as well on its return from Derby last December, and was slightly noiser.

If Aerolite pistons will increase the performance I fail to see why I cannot have them fitted, and I also cannot see why the cost would be appreciable in changing the pistons. Neither can I understand why there would be a considerable amount of work of an expensive nature.

At any rate I do use the car for long runs where I want the best performance I can have, and I would submit it should be worth while for you to give me this performance.

The question of brake squealing I am leaving entirely in your hands. I have proved to my own satisfaction the squealing is less with the cycle type mudguards off, but it definitely is not cured.

I am leaving it to you to do whatever you wish to get rid of the squealing in regard to fitting new drums, shoes or mudguards etc. but I naturally shall not expect to pay for the new mudguards if the squealing is still present after changing the mudguards.

In a letter from Mr.Sidgreaves dated 17th April he says that he thinks it seems a pity for me to scrap the cycle type wings if you succeed in eliminating the squeak. I quite agree. I like my cycle type mudguards and do not want them changed. All I want is the brakes put right, and the squealing stopped.
