R.R. 493A (50 H) (D.D. 31, 12-6-25) J.H.D. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. 48990 REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG4.12.25. To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 7-EX CAR. 48990 48830 We managed to drag this car away from Messrs. Barkers at 6 p.m. yesterday. They told us that they would not in any case work on it during the weekend. We are therefore arranging to return it to them the first thing on Monday morning. There are numerous rattles in the body. The hood cover flaps against the doors and windows. At present there is no back light in the hood. We missed it. I do not know whether it is your intention to have one put in. We notice that they are using cork-compo on the floorboards and not cork-sorbo. The cork is not edged at all so that it will have a very short life. We consider that cork fitted in the manner it is on this car is a nuisance. The handle on the luggage grid fouls the new large size petrol filler. We are altering this. We consider it would be useful if you went to Messrs. Barkers on Monday and saw the car before they finally varnish it. The rattles in the body are very bad. The 20 HP. subframe Cabriolet is ready at Barkers. We do not want, however, to take it away until they make a satisfactory job of the front floorboards. They say they have had no instructions as regards felt round the boards. You might square this up with them when you see 7-EX. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
