X. 8240 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} S E C R E T E2/M14.1.25. c. to CJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. ENGINE CONTROLS - 'V' SERIES. X. 8240 We send you herewith drawings LeC.1980/81/82., shewing the EAC. controls modified for 'V' series. We have had to move the sloping control layshaft fixed to the crankcase side about .5" to the rear, but the one position does for 'B', 'C' and 'D' steerings. Also we have had to invert the slow opening mechanism for the throttle but this has no harmful effect on the movement. On the mixture control we have shortened the steering column lever from 1¼" to 1", and we are providing a correspondingly longer lever on the carburetter end of the transverse shaft. We leave it to you to decide in Derby whether to move the studs on the crankcase for securing the sloping layshaft, or to use extended brackets to fix the sloping layshaft in the desired position on the existing studs. Blue prints of these drawings have been sent to Mr. Royce. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
