contd :- -2- other conclusions i.e., jet and diffuser in float was a failure because of the capacity to be filled up in the diffuser passages: therefore the Spanish carburetter is wrong. I have not enough dimensions to make a trial of modifications suggested herein, so I am awaiting Mr. Elliott's preliminary attempts at a simple modification if possible, or a new design. Though we cannot test for acceleration (possibly not of very great moment) we can test the fore and aft inclination, which I think we ought to do, and also learn as much as we can from other makes as well as Curtiss. I believe however Mr. Lovesey is right, and the modifications should be pushed forward in case they are imperative. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
