I understand that Derby are pushing on with this work and for, hopes to have two of your different schemes ready for test by the end of May.

It is very important that we should have something in this direction available in time for the Show this year.

In fact at the beginning of 1930 I was definitely of the opinion that we ought to have something of this sort to offer in 1931 but unfortunately we are still without it.

I hope you will realize that no one regrets more than I do that the Bentley people appear to have been successful in achieving such wonderful results, but it is no use our ignoring the fact, and it does tend to show the importance of our people, wherever possible, trying other people's cars so as to keep in touch with what other manufacturers are doing.

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd) A.F.Sidgreaves
