Further to our memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}9/JH.18.1.39., we have laid out a programme herewith, showing the various combinations of cylinder materials and pistons to be incorporated in engines, in line with our development programme.

B.V. No. 4 Unit. (Chassis 9.B.V.) (10,000 Miles' Test.)

Short cylinder inserts to be fitted as follows:-

Cyls. Nos.1 & 2. Brivadium ) Brico (to be supplied).
" " 3 & 4. Hichrome )
" " 5 & 6. Ph. Chrome - R.R. (to be produced)

Pistons: EW.2121. (Raised crown split skirt).

B.60 No.4 Unit. (Chassis 3.B.50) 10,000 Miles' Test).

Short Cylinder inserts to be fitted as follows:-

Cyl. Nos. 1 & 2. Standard bores (No. insert)
" " 3 & 4 Hichrome (Brico)
" " 5 & 6 Ph. Chrome (R.R.)

Pistons:
" Nos. 1, 3 & 5 EW.1967.
" 2, 4 & 6 EB.3916.

Wraith No. 8 Unit.(Chassis 25.G.VI).

Conditions exactly as 3.B.50, except that pistons to have raised crowns.
Nos. 1, 3 & 5 EW.2121 (RR)
