(2) (10) PAINTING ETC. Bonnet, body, etc, to be suitable prepared, painted and finished in the highest manner with requisite number of coats to satisfaction of R.R. Colours to be BURNT UMBER - BLACK MOULDING AT ELBOW LINE - BLACK WINGS. (11) UPHOLSTERY, ETC. Head lined cloth. Seats covered with Conneley's brown hide No.AN121 of best quality. Inside panels and doors covered to suit. Patterns to be approved. Back cushion constructed with Vi type springs, and with two loose "down" stuffed cushions. Back squabbing properly shaped and pleated. Front seats with pleated squabbing and cushions. Large pockets to doors. Inside woodwork polished mahogany or walnut. (12) FLOORS. Floorboards framed and lipped and to be readily removeable. The whole covered loose "parafloor" rubber or felt (not less than ½" thick) below Axminster carpet. (13) PROVISION FOR TOOLS ETC. Metal box behind off-side front wing against frame to hold Jack, handle, pump, wheel spanner and mallet. Box for two spare tubes under rear seat. (14) .................... (15) INSTRUMENT BOARD. Polished mahogany or walnut fitted with instruments etc (provided by R-R Ltd) and finished complete, including connecting up instruments with chassis - see R-R drawing. (16) OTHER ITEMS. Fit wind horn (supplied by R-R Ltd.) Fit 2 No. plates. Fit light at back of front seat. Fit side lamps on front wings (supplied by RR.) Fit front lamps (supplied by RR.) Provide facilities for RR. man to do necessary electric wiring for lamps, etc. Nickel parts to be close plated or very deeply electro plated on copper. (17) Observances of all clearances shewn on Rolls-Royce chassis prints, body irons, cross bars and floorboards must not prevent ready access to chassis parts. (18) The body to be bolted to chassis only at the body brackets on frame, supplied by RR. Ltd. (19) Scuttle to be attached in a semi-flexible manner to dashboard as shewn on Rolls-Royce chassis print, or by other manner to be approved by Rolls-Royce Ltd. (20) Ample ventilation to scuttle, giving air inlet equivalent to sq. in. or more - see item 8. (23) Front floorboards to be framed to prevent warping. Front and rear boards to be lipped to avoid hot air entering body through joints. Seat boards must be air tight. | ||
