CJ. C. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. Der. BRAKES. CJ11/E11.2.24 (b) I agree with your remarks. (c) Apart from fitting the new gearbox, the fitting of the new front axle and dumb irons and the necessary link work means that the body must be removed from the chassis, and we think that the work required is more than could be carried out at the residence of an owner. (d) With R's scheme the moving of the dynamo is necessary to find room for the servo, and this work cannot be left out unless the servo unit is detached from the gearbox. (e) This is agreed. The "too detached" criticism is a question of appearance, and some inconvenience in having a separate unit to oil, with the possibility of oil leaks. (f) We do not think that Rg{Mr Rowledge}'s amended scheme should be issued, as we consider that there should only be one type issued to customers. We are still pushing on with modifications to my scheme, as we are able to obtain useful information by testing it, that should be useful when we come to testing R's scheme. We are trying to improve the temporary scheme, and to remove its disadvantages, but we see no reason at present for any change in the policy decided upon. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} | ||
