-2- or otherwise ways of installing your filters and would be interested in any suggestion you may have on this point. You will see, therefore, that we are doing our best to give your filter the best support possible and know that you will do the same regarding the material flaw in the filter we returned, to see that this trouble will be overcome in future supplies. Regarding the functioning of the filters, other than the one we returned, the remainder seem to be doing their job of work quite satisfactorily. The attached drawings also show our connection pipes and our own connection unions. It is our standard practice to use alum washers where a sealed joint is required as we have had trouble with fibre washers through splitting and shrinkage. However, with alum washers we have had some difficulty in obtaining an oil tight joint on several filters due to slight inaccuracies of the filter face, also on one a figure O was stamped just where the washer came. We should be obliged if you could watch these points so that any future trouble is avoided in this direction. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
