We sent you the following telegram yesterday :-

23-EX. LEFT HERE WITH PLATFORD AND BELLRINGER. 24-EX LEAVING TODAY WITH CAVE AND HILL. I SHALL RETURN AS SOON AS EVERYTHING IS SETTLED UP.

We had managed to get 23-EX finished by 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening, and as far as could be ascertained, the car was running O.K. We were greatly surprised to see Mr. Bellringer and Mr. Platford turn up in place of Mr. Northey, as we had not been informed of the change in the programme.

I decided to send 24-EX by Cave and Hill, as I had only just started with my final report. We have now completed this and are completing the winding up of the Hotel bill and petrol bills. I shall be leaving here in the morning and will report at Derby first thing on Monday.

G.W.H.
