POSITION OF PEREGRINE & BENSPORT. X4553.

PEREGRINE.

We are making all arrangements that Peregrine No.2 will leave Derby on Friday November 4th. for France.

This car is fitted with most of the modifications. Actually from the running point of view it will give us most of the information we desire. We do not look upon this car as the final 10,000 miles test car, we expect when the first car has been out there two or three weeks we shall change it for one with additional modifications.

It is difficult to lay down a definite list of the modifications because now that we are getting to the finesse stage it is likely to vary from day to day. There are no outstanding features which need any design attention.

Peregrine No.3 should be running next week and we do not expect to start erecting the No.4 and 5 cars until we have had some results from France and the specification is more stable.

The chassis has now run over 100 hrs. on the bumper. The new improved parts are being fitted to this from time to time.

The R.R. carburetter will be fitted to the car going to France and gives good promise of being successful.

The position of the Peregrine at the moment is very encouraging. We believe if it is necessary we ought to be in a position to instruct the long distance material for production in about five or six weeks time.

BENSPORT.

Now that it has been agreed to use J.1 engine in Bensport we are pressing RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} for the chassis.

The correct side members for this car are now in and as most of the front axle and rear axle are for Peregrine it should not be long before we have a chassis together.
