1293 Experimental Department 18th November 1936. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les.26/AP. Messrs Arens Controls Ltd., 2 South Wharf, Praed Street, LONDON W.2. Dear Sirs, Referring to the single control which your representative fitted to one of our Phantom III. chassis a few days ago, we are not fully satisfied with the freedom of its operation. With the oil lubricator fitted we presume that the control is liable to get more free rather than stiffer, but we shall be forced to go to a rod control unless something with less friction can be evolved. We still feel that the small size of cable would be better and would like you to send us a sample piece of the smallest cable having two right angle bends in the length. With regard to the lubrication. Can you supply an adaptor whereby the flexible cable as we are now using on production can be lubricated. If so will you please send us a cable with a lubricator adaptor in the centre. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
