PHANTOM EXHAUST CUT-OUT. X7490
--------------------------------

Referring to Dal/M.15.1.27. the improved silencer operating scheme referred to in your memo above, design N.Scheme 2216, has been instructed and tried out by the Experimental Dept. and is actually on order for D.2. Series.

The proposal put forward by Mr.Hancock is the result of a discussion which has taken place at the Works, to the effect that the spring on the outlet butterfly of the cut-out is useless as it is fully arranged for in the strength of toggle operating from the front.

We are bringing the scheme referred to in Mr.Hancock's memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/LG.13.1.27, in for C.2. Series.
