Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} C.R. 2 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LGS.1.20. X.3743. RE CAR TO RUN 10,000 MILES. X.3644 This car will leave here on Wednesday. It is fitted with the following new parts - New parts fitted. Remarks. 1. Michelin Disc wheels - front and rear. X.3482. These wheels give centre point steering. The steering feels unstable; we may be able to have more lean on the pivots with advantage. 2. New type rear shock absorbers, with all latest modifications. X.34618. Set to 75 lbs. load on the maximum stage. 3. Gleason Skew Bevels. X.3612. Axle not very good to silence. We feel we have upset it by dismantling it to fit oil retaining baffles. 4. Oil retaining baffles in axle. X.3532. To prevent oil getting on to the rear brakes. 5. Oil retaining ring solid with clutch ring. X.3657 This does away with the loose aluminium ring. 6. New clutch operating lever. X.3657 To improve operating mechanism. 7. New Clutch Brake. X.3546. To make it more easy to adjust. 8. Foot Brakes lined with die-pressed Ferodo (No.9.) X.3518. Recommended by Frood's. 9. Improved split pistons H.2820. X.3751 The metal has been distributed so that it will form a cantilever spring. 10. New type air pump to Lec.1075 X.3538 Contd. | ||
