Modifications and updates to the tool kit for the 40/50 chassis.

TOOL KIT FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. X1027 With further reference to the above and in reply to your BY10/P18.11.21, the following are further points to which I shall be glad if you can give consideration:- 1. (Refer to your memo, items 1,2 and 3). In the kit at present there are three C Spanners, E39, E81 and /E6422. We feel that with a slight alteration to the 'nib' of the Spanner E39, so that this 'nib' was not so thick, so as to fit the slots of say the steering column nuts, then this spanner could be used universally and replace the other two. 2. We note you approve the deletion of Gudgeon Pin Extractor E13402, Tommy Bar and box Spanner for piston E17733/4. 3. We also note a suitable tool for grinding in the valve, which we have reported on, is to be adopted. Please refer to our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn14/H23.11.21. 4. We feel that the box keys at present used are much too heavy and cumbersome, and Mr. Royce's suggestion to go back to the old method of expanded tubes should overcome the complaint of the dismantling of the Lock Nuts K4307 on the rear hubs, and to overcome the complaint completely, this tube spanner should also be made longer. We feel that tube spanners can be combined as follows:- F6955 } To be made 1" longer.
