TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} MR. ROYCE'S CAR 7-EX. [STAMP] RECEIVED NOV 22 1926 [STAMP] ORIGINAL [HANDWRITTEN AND CROSSED OUT] X8952 X8650 X8430 X8425 The steering on this car is not entirely satisfactory, and it would be of interest to us to know how it is fitted up. Has it got for instance the .720 worm in the box, 1500 lbs. per in. springs in the side steering tube, spring loaded balls on the cross steering tube, and/or extra friction in the pivots? We understand of course from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} that the car is to go back to Derby to have further modifications, but the present condition of the steering is so interesting that we should like to know what it has got at the moment.
