ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Mr Barrington Order No.: Customer's No.: A R Wallin Taper Valve springs. file The test with bouncing them & listening to the note of the spring does enable us to pick out some faulty springs. The 3 springs we had which by their note we imagined were faulty have turned out as follows:- 1 has broken after 15 hrs & the others now seem O.K. These (3) springs did not sound as "leady" as the first one we found, but they were the worst of what we had. The other test with the 6 Polished springs which we imagined were O.K. one of them broke after 50 hrs. The taper valve springs we have had in I consider are a bad batch & the material is rotten. (Contd) Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. (L.L. 355. 10.6.12) E.P. 1997. | ||
