Dear Mr. Steadman,

We thank you for your letter of the 19th of March, referring again to fan belts. Confirming the writer's telephone conversation with you this morning we must assure you that we have not neglected this question but have pursued it very earnestly indeed.

We have passed back all your findings and remarks to the States but correspondence has not proved satisfactory and our Mr. Holmes and Mr. Robinson have both been in the States since the 14th of March investigating this and other matters which have arisen. We are expecting them back in about 14 days' time and we feel sure that we shall then be in a position to overcome the difficulty experienced with the belts turning over.

We note the Gates Rubber Co's statements concerning cord treatment and the building of belts under tension and can assure you that both these factors are incorporated in our Making Particulars.

With regard to your query concerning the production of belts to part no. EW.1518 we hope to be in a position to supply these towards the end of May.

Yours truly,
FERODO LIMITED
