Robin Hood Engineering Works, KINGSTON-ON-THAMES. Dear Major Carrington, I have taken the opportunity of trying the special K.L.G.831 type plugs with special platinum electrode. They do not seem to run as well for slow running, or under conditions where the mixture is attenuated, and it occurred to me that plugs with a little longer reach, i.e. length of thread 9/16" from joint collar; and electrodes which were not so shrouded might be an advantage in this respect and at the same time maintain the virtues which the present plug appears to have. Is it possible that you could supply me with some such plugs so that I can make a comparison with the present ones, and return to you the plugs which do not give the best results. I have formed this opinion by comparing the results obtained by fixing the K.L.G.765A plugs (now used on our Bentley cars), which appear to give better results in this respect. Could you also let me have one of those plug gauges for checking the gaps correctly, which you showed me when with Mr. West during your last visit to the Works. Yours sincerely, | ||
