EFC3/T1.7.25. -4- Contd. Test No.4. 6.6.23. Bench tests for wear of continental bakelite WITH cam lubricated. Equivalent miles run 10,000. Wear observed .004" Test No.5. 31.1.24. Bench tests for wear of continental bakelite - cam lubricated every 2,000 miles (in accordance with Instruction Book). Equivalent miles run 10,000. Wear observed .005" Test No.6. 22.2.24. Test of continental bakelite on chassis 4-GII. Actual mileage run 10,000 - under ordinary chassis conditions. Wear .015". Test No.7. 22.2.24. Test of continental bakelite on chassis 6-GII. Actual mileage 10,793. Wear .007". Test No.8. 15.7.24. Bench test of bone grey fibre (first sample) Equivalent mileage 10,000 with cam well lubricated. Wear .002". Test 9. 21.10.24. Bone grey fibre. (1st sample) Run on bench for equivalent 10,000 miles. Cam unlubricated but suspected absorption of oil by block from previous tests. Wear nil (immeasurable). Rubbing block after test appeared to be in a thoroughly satisfactory condition. It is possible that the block had swelled slightly due to the absorption of oil and this counteracted the effect of the wear. | ||
