Dear Fowler Clark,
I have had a most awfully nice letter from Mr. Royce, personally, about the nickel iron battery business.
He also said he has standardised our batteries for the 40/50 along with another make and that he hopes it will not be long before we win all the business, which is very nice of him.
It looks as if our long struggle to get the B.D.11. standardised is over.
Mr. Royce is also very pleased with the sample plates etc. Mr. Hives took to him and is most interested in the moulded cases which appeal to him.
I have thanked Mr. Royce for his letter and his kind remarks and have told him we are making a 6 compartment moulding for the 20 h.p. to Rolls Royce dimensions and that we hope to send you the first sample and 3/4 month's time.
As a matter of fact I passed the design last week and I think you will be pleased with the article when you see it.
It is very kind of you and Mr.Hives to have brought the good points of our products before Mr. Royce and I very much appreciate it.
I am off to the south at the end of this week
