For the attention of Mr. Martin-Hurst.

Dear Sir,

Thermostats E.80893.

We were only able to test one out of the two special thermostats having a lower setting. The one we did test caused the shutters to open at 64oC, which is much too low. The other thermostat flange was so unlike the flange on the radiator that we could not fit it in position. As we let you have one of the actual flanges we use, there should be no difficulty in this respect in the future.

The best thing for you to do is to copy our present calorstat exactly. You may like to cut up the sample one we sent. We are enclosing a set of figures taken from our present thermostats. These give the loads holding the shutters closed up to the maximum load exerted by the thermostats.

We should like you to make us six more thermostats to the enclosed figures. You will note that all these six production thermostats came very closely to the figures quoted on our drawing E.80893. Out of your first batch of four there was considerable variation.

We are returning three thermostats, one of which is very close to the figures given on our drawing; however, the load holding the shutters closed at 20oC is considerably less.

cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
