( 4) Carry out tappet clearance tests on the inlet valves (Steel Push Rods).
Cold at .005, Water at 80°C ? Water and oil 80°C ?

(5) Gears should be O.K. and all other parts of engine O.K.

(6) Check best idling.

B.60 NO.1 UNIT.

Endurance to be carried out as follows; open exhaust power to be checked before commencing.

Total 100 hrs. duration.

6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily (continuous through lunch.

Run on Ethyl fuel and Motorine C. oil.

Test bed silencer.

Each 1 hr. to consist of 15 mins at

a - 3000 R.P.M.
b - 3500 "
c - 4000 "
d - 4250 (Valve bounce permitting).

Each 10 hrs. to consist of

7 hrs. full throttle.
2 hrs. ½ load.
1 hr. ¼ load.

Oil inlet temp. to be controlled at 80°C.

Oil consumption to be recorded.

Top and bottom water temperature recorded.

Run on weakest maintained and record petrol consumptions.
