R.R. 245 (50 H) (P.P. 498. 31/x/13.) Bm. J.720.1316. -2- surface that had been in contact with the cover had completely perished. The driver says he cannot bear his hands on the tyres after a run. I told Mrs Cohen about the twin Michelin wheels, and she said that up to now they have been using Michelin tyres, but are just going to fit a pair of Prowodniks to the rear wheels. When these burst she is going to let me know if the mileage is more satisfactory. If it is not I shall then take up the matter of fitting the twin wheels with Messrs Cockshoot, who made the body. Re the attached Blue print, I notice it says these dimensions are "for cars with inverted Springs (over axle)". I take it that this refers to the new type cantilever springs. If it does it is no good for this Car as it is fitted with ¾ elliptical springs. I shall be glad if you will clear this up, in case the twin wheels have to be fitted, in which case I shall write for the blue print. I ask the above question because I measured the distance between the centre of the tyre tread and the half-spring brackets spring clips, and find it is barely 7", while on the attached blue print it says there must be a clear 8" radius as clearance. | ||
