Dear Sir,

We wish to have another 1.7/16" double tooth gear for a Bentley, similar to the one you previously supplied to us but if possible with two modifications to reduce sponginess in the gear.

The trouble is that, as usual, we want the gear as soon as possible and, if the modifications would delay the job unduly, we would have to be satisfied with a gear identical to the previous one.

The modifications we would like are as follows :-

(1) The helix angle increased in the ratio of 9 : 8 so that we can use an 8.000" pendulum lever instead of the 9.000" one we are at present using with this gear.

(2) The rockershaft increased in dia. from 1.000" to about 1.187" with a correspondingly larger splined end.

Will you please let us know how soon you can let us have (a) a gear identical to the previous one and (b) a gear with the modifications mentioned above.
