Hotel de france, Chateauroux, Indre France. +7941 Mr. Hancock from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG2.5.29. We are having quite a number of complaints of radiators becoming choked up through a slimy deposit collecting in the top two or three rows of tubes in the radiator. We think this is due to over-lubricating of the water pump gland. We should like you to try running 22-EX with no lubrication in the water pump gland. This pump is provided with a nitro alloy steel shaft and should not therefore tend to pick up providing the gland will remain water-tight. With reference to steering. We are interested in your remarks re. the difference between worn and new tyres; we should like you to go further with tyre pressures and give us a table of the steering behaviour from 25 lbs/sq.in. on the front tyres to 45 lbs/sq.in. We should also like you to try triple stud tyres, if you can get them from Paris, and Michelin tyres of a corresponding size. We think it would be worth running a pair of each of these tyres for steering tests. We note the loading you have obtained on the cross steering tube. contd :- | ||
