Dear Rothes,

Thank you for your letter of the 7th September.

I had an excellent time in Scotland, the weather was good and the birds plentiful. I also had the best quarter of an hour's duck shooting I have ever had in my life. I hope all the good weather will not have gone by September 21st!

We had a great time in Ulster last week and the race was certainly exciting. Usually I think motor racing is very dull but this was an exception.

I am so glad that Capt. Dugdale likes his car. Do not forget to let me know if he brings it to the Works at any time as I would like to hear his opinion of it.

I note your car will be coming in on Sept. 22nd. I will do anything I can, and note the things you say about it.

The Colonial tyres have one bad fault - they are terribly noisy. We expected a certain amount of noise but they are worse than the triple stud tyres. However, when you have time I can demonstrate this to you.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
